MEET THE BDM
What makes Pure
Retirement stand out?
It really comes back to the culture
and the service we offer. At Pure,
we can confidently say that client
outcomes come first – it genuinely
underpins everything we do.
We work hard to do the right
thing, even when it’s difficult, and
clients are always at the heart of
decision making. That commitment
gives advisers confidence that
their clients are being treated fairly
and responsibly.
While we have many strong
unique selling points (USPs) across
our products, it’s the ethos behind
the business that truly stands out.
The culture is open, supportive and
values driven, and that’s something
I’m incredibly proud to be part of.
It creates an environment where
colleagues are empowered to
challenge, collaborate and always
focus on good customer outcomes.
What are the challenges
facing BDMs right now?
One of the biggest challenges
BDMs are facing at the moment is
the uncertainty within the market,
largely driven by external events.
During times like this, a key part
of our role is maintaining confidence
and positivity. It’s about ensuring
advisers feel fully supported,
informed and listened to, even when
conditions are challenging.
Keeping spirits high, being visible,
and helping advisers navigate change
with a clear and proactive mindset
are all crucial as we continue to
move forward together.
What are the
opportunities for BDMs?
Periods of uncertainty create a
real opportunity to deepen and
strengthen the relationships we’re
building with advisers. This is when
support, visibility and consistency
matter most. It’s an opportunity to
show resilience in the face of change,
demonstrate value beyond rates and
products, and reinforce that we’re
here for the long term.
These moments often define
trusted partnerships. By being
proactive, accessible and solutionsfocused, we can further support
advisers, and ultimately, their clients,
helping them feel confident and
reassured even when the wider
market feels unsettled.
and ensure you’re aware of the
wider circumstances surrounding
your decision.
Feeling informed and reassured
throughout the process is just as
important as the outcome itself. Your
adviser will support you through
this and help you make an informed
choice that’s right for you.
What would you like
people to know about you
How do you work with
brokers to ensure the best
outcomes for borrowers?
Working closely with advisers is key
to achieving the best outcomes for
borrowers. That starts with open
communication, really understanding
the adviser’s business and their
client base, and making sure they
feel supported at every stage of
the journey.
I aim to be a dependable point of
contact, helping advisers navigate
criteria, discuss suitability, and
explore options that align with their
client’s individual circumstances.
This collaborative approach helps
ensure solutions are tailored rather
than transactional.
By collaborating early, sharing
knowledge and maintaining
ongoing communication, we can
help advisers make confident
recommendations that lead to better
outcomes for borrowers.
What advice would you
outside of work?
I live near Brighton and love
spending time there whenever I can.
Weekends are often spent walking
along the seafront and strolling
down the Lanes, especially when
the weather’s good and there’s a
beautiful sunset, I find being by
the coast a great way to switch off
and reset.
I really enjoy spending time with
my family and friends, whether
that’s catching up locally or planning
something together.
I’m also a big fan of travelling
and I am always thinking about
or planning my next trip. Having
something to look forward to gives
me real motivation and balance
outside of work.
I also bought my first home as a
renovation project almost two years
ago, so a lot of my spare time is
currently taken up with renovating
the house, which involves plenty of
painting, planning and decorating,
but it’s a project I’m genuinely
enjoying.
give potential borrowers
in the current climate?
My advice to potential borrowers is
to have open, honest conversations
with your adviser and make sure
you feel confident and comfortable
with any decisions being made. Take
the time to fully understand your
options, the implications of each
choice, and how they fit with both
your short and long term goals.
