Meet
eet The BDM
OSB Group
The Intermediary speaks with Nathan Singh Chand,
BDM at OSB Group
How and why did you
become a BDM?
I started my career with OSB Group
in 2018 as a lending assessor before
progressing into underwriting.
During that time, I gained valuable
technical knowledge and became
involved in assessing complex
cases and discussing solutions with
brokers. What I enjoyed most was
the problem-solving aspect and the
conversations with brokers around
challenging scenarios.
As my understanding of the
market grew, I realised I wanted to
be involved earlier in the process,
helping brokers structure and place
cases rather than assessing them
after submission.
Becoming a BDM allowed me to
combine technical expertise with
relationship building, while helping
brokers find solutions for their
clients. Moving into a field-based
role was always my long-term goal

because I enjoy working directly with
people, building trust and helping to
solve complex lending challenges.
What brought you
to OSB Group?
My career has always been
centred around financial services,
including roles in financial markets,
recruitment, consumer lending and
fraud investigations before joining
OSB Group. The opportunity to join
a well-established financial services
business with a strong reputation
was what initially attracted me.
What kept me here was the
opportunity to learn, develop and
build specialist expertise. The
business gave me a clear path to
progress from lending assessor to
underwriter and ultimately into
business development.
Looking back, that journey gave
me a much broader understanding of
lending than I would have gained had
I moved straight into a sales-focused
position. It also helped me develop
the technical knowledge that I
rely on every day when supporting
brokers with complex cases.
What makes OSB Group
stand out?
Whether it’s residential lending,
bridging, buy-to-let (BTL) or
commercial finance, the Group can
support a wide range of customer
needs, whether it’s residential
or bridging through Precise, BTL
through Rely or commercial lending
through InterBay.
Rather than focusing on one
area of the market, OSB Group
offers solutions across multiple
sectors, which means brokers have
access to a broad range of options
through one organisation. That
breadth is particularly valuable in
today’s market, where customer
circumstances are increasingly
