Meet The BDM
Advise Wise
The Intermediary speaks with Timothy Feather,
telephone business development manager at Advise Wise
How and why did you
become a BDM?
I became a TBDM in February 2024,
driven by a desire to broaden my
experience within the equity release
sector. Prior to this, I spent over 12
years working as an adviser across
several equity release broker firms.
While I thoroughly enjoyed advising
clients and supporting them through
important financial decisions, I
reached a point where I wanted to
challenge myself in a new capacity
within the industry.
When the opportunity arose to join
Advise Wise as a TBDM, it felt like a
natural next step. A former colleague
brought the vacancy to my attention,
and I immediately recognised it as
a chance to build on my existing
knowledge while developing new
skills in business development and
relationship management. I applied

straight away and was fortunate to
be successful.
Now, more than two years on, I’m
proud to be one of the recognisable
faces supporting advisers using the
Advise Wise platform.
What makes Advise Wise
stand out?
Advise Wise has a clear vision to
become one of the leading later life
lending sourcing platforms in the UK,
and that ambition really resonated
with me. I wanted to be part of a
business that is not only growing
but actively shaping the future of
the market. The opportunity to
contribute to building the brand and
helping establish Advise Wise as the
‘go-to’ platform for advisers was a
key factor in my decision to join.
Many advisers using sourcing
tools don’t specialise solely in equity
release, so having a system that
is intuitive and easy to navigate
is critical.
Another major differentiator is
the people behind the platform. Our
support team is made up of qualified,
experienced industry professionals
– many of whom, like me, are former
advisers. This means we genuinely
understand the challenges advisers
face and can provide meaningful,
practical support.
We also play an active role in
shaping the platform’s development.
Feedback from both internal teams
and external users is continually
incorporated, ensuring the system
evolves in line with advisers’ needs.
In that sense, it really is a platform
built for advisers, by advisers.
In addition, our helpdesk and
support services make a tangible
difference. Advisers can speak to
knowledgeable professionals who
understand their issues and can
