international.
Carter has been

than 19 years, most
recently as strategy and
transformation lead.
Carter said: “We

AFP appoints Dale
Eynon as Government
affairs and policy lead

T
he Association of Fleet
Professionals (AFP) has
appointed Dale Eynon as
Government affairs and
policy lead. The role was created
to improve the fleet industry’s
lobbying abilities and ensure
its voices are heard by the
Government.
He has already planned an
inaugural AFP parliamentary
event at the House of Commons
and a reception to launch the
association’s latest Tax and
Regulation Manifesto.
Eynon said: “The AFP has
become established as the
leading voice of the fleet sector
since its formation in 2020.
“My job will very much be to act
as a bridge between its members
and Westminster, and I’m looking
forward to promoting their needs
at the highest level.”

Christian Øien takes
MD role at Europcar
Mobility Group UK
E
uropcar Mobility Group UK
and Ireland has appointed
Christian Øien as managing
director, with an aim to boost
digital innovation and grow zerotailpipe emissions solutions.
Gary Smith, the previous
managing director, has retired
following 14 years at Europcar.
Smith and Øien will work
together for the next two months
to ensure a smooth handover.
Øien said: “I am looking
forward to building on [Smith's]
success to ensure Europcar
continues to deliver solutions that
are fit for purpose as the market
evolves. We know that businesses
and individuals want to reduce
their impact on the environment
and vehicle rental, whether for a
few days or long-term can help
them achieve that goal.”
Smith said: “I feel very
confident that the initiatives we
have taken to create mobility
solutions that are fit for purpose
[...] give Christian and the team
solid foundations to continue
to build the business in the
coming years.”

has made three senior
appointments. Former
director of data and
insights for AutoTrader
Richard Walker joined as
executive director of research,
data and insights.
Needa Khan joins as
director of product and client
services, having worked at the
London School of Economics
and The Insights Family. Safe
Hammad has joined as a NED.
Walker said: “Automotive
Insights & Research Services
delivers deep consumer
understanding, tracking
evolving behaviours, attitudes,
and opinions specific to
the automotive market
and the brands within it
over time.”
Khan said: “I’m excited
to join a team that’s setting
the standard for automotive
insights [...] collaborating
with brilliant minds and
pushing the industry
forward.”
Nick Richardson, exec
director of automotive
insights and research
services, said: “I am delighted
to welcome Richard, Needa
and Safe to the team, all of
them will play a key role in
delivering our growth plans
and politely disrupting the
[sector].”
