Technologies about how they are simplifying dealer
loan management

ver the past few decades,
technology has made the
process of car buying much
easier. Buyers can find, view
and reserve a car, secure
financing and arrange to
part-exchange their existing
car, all without leaving
the house. Until recently,
however, little had been done to make
the process simpler for the dealer.
Automotive Business Magazine spoke
with James Powell, global head of
lending at SBS, and John Mizzi, CEO at
Vero Technologies, about the partnership
between their firms that aims to
change this.
Making life easier
Floor-plan financing is a
cornerstone of operations
for dealers of all sizes. The
solutions allow dealers to hold
more stock with increased
liquidity, but managing these
loans often introduces new
headaches, both for dealers
and for lenders.
Vero Technologies’
system, and its integration
with SBS Software, has been
designed to smooth out this
process by bringing the entire
wholesale financing process
under one roof.
Floorplan financing has
traditionally relied
on manual and
legacy systems
that can
slow dealer
support and make it difficult for lenders
to scale. The SBS–Vero solution is
intended to replace that with cloudnative, automated technology that
supports quicker credit decisions,
better risk insights and improved dealer
experiences.
Dealers onboard digitally, inventory is
tracked in real-time at VIN level, and
funding decisions can be automated
within pre-set credit parameters.
Billing, collections and risk monitoring
are also integrated.
Powell explains: “Everybody's been
spending lots of money on the digital
customer journey for the consumer.
There's been less emphasis on the digital
customer journey for the dealer.
“Where the combination of SBS and
Vero is really strong is in the back-end
– we're doing billing, collecting and
managing credit lines. What Vero
brings is this improved digital
customer journey.
“We're bringing the
relationship between the
lender and the dealer up into
the modern age.
“The best feedback we've
ever received on our dealer
facing systems is that we've
made them ‘idiot-proof’.
